ABOUT KAYLEN

Kaylen was a happy, energetic, healthy six year old girl who loved playing, being with her friends and simply enjoying all the fun parts of being a child.  During the first week of April, 2012, all this changed for Kaylen and her family. Kaylen was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor on the Pons section of her brain.

The official name for this tumor is Diffuse Infiltrating Pontine Glioma (DIPG), which is almost always fatal to the 100 - 200 children in the United States that are diagnosed with this disease each year.  It is, wihtout a doubt, a disease which strikes at the heart of childhood and it is in desperate need of a cure.

While we continue to try to move forward and remember all the good times of Kaylen's life, we realize that every day another child is diagnosed with some type of childhood cancer.  The fact remains that more funding, specifically for childhood cancers, is needed to help find a cure.

MACC FUND

Founded in 1976, Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc. (the MACC Fund) is dedicated to funding childhood cancer and related blood disorder research. Our goal, with your help, is to find a cure for childhood cancer and related blood disorders by providing critical funding for research.

The MACC Fund gives the Gift of Hope through Research. Every penny counts. Every donation matters. Why? Because every child battling cancer or a blood disorder is someone's child, someone's sibling, someone's friend. Every donation gives hope to a child fighting cancer or a blood disorder.

Our goal is to fulfill the mission and to cure the MACC Fund out of existence. For more information please visit www.MACCFund.org.
